Qtec AFFF Suppression Systems
Under harsh climate and terrain conditions operators and machines are protected against the outbreak of fires.
Fires can result where there is the potential for the interaction between combustable and flammable liquids with turbo chargers, exaust systems and electrical componants.
OVERVIEW
Qtec Fire's Loss of Pressure and Rise of Pressure actuated fire suppression systems are designed and manufactured in Australia.
The suppression systems are pre-engineered and designed to effectively suppress and control fires occurring on heavy mobile machinery. Therefore reducing the risk to operators and property.
The suppression systems use Aqueous Film Forming Foam (AFFF) solution as the extinguishing agent. When a fire occurs, the system discharges a continuous stream of foam water spray for a pre-determined time to rapidly suppress flames and dramatically cool hot surfaces to help prevent reflash. The AFFF solution has the unique ability to form a blanket over the fuel surface to act as a vapour seal, to help prevent re-ignition.
SYSTEM ACTUATION AND DISCHARGE
A Qtec fire suppression system can be actuated via two methods:
1. By automated detection - either via, loss of pressure or rise of pressure,
2. By manual operation of the Remote Actuator in the cabin or at locations around the vehicle.
When the system is actuated, the AFFF extinguishing agent is discharged through a series of strategically arranged nozzles aimed at the fire risk areas which are identified through a Fire Risk Assesment.
